Lawmakers make their views known about blogs and Bipartisan Campaign Finance Reform

A group of thirteen Democrat and one Republican representatives are “speaking out against regulating blogs”:http://www.cnn.com/2005/TECH/internet/03/11/blogs.reut/index.html.

My question: if the Republicans are the party of smaller government, then why aren’t more Republicans speaking out? I’m sure you know the answer.
