Big cancer care problem

Apparently, too few cancer patients understand their doctor when discussing their diagnosis and treatment options.

This comes as no surprise to me. Even given the fact that I know a bit of medical jargon and work closely with drug studies for 1/4 of my time, I find it hard to communicate with doctors about my daughter’s ear ache. Cancer treatment is complex, complicated by the many different types and subtleties of the disease (really a collection of diseases). And the hospital bills. Ugh, wading through insurance and the hospital bills. Yick. (Yes, I’ve had the pleasure of wading through the insurance and hospital bills of cancer treatment, for my mother.)
