Escapism

Well, I’m fed up with the real world, so I’ve been escaping into the imaginary. Yep, that’s right, I’ve been “gaming”:/smiley/gaming. Now, what’s a grown man with a real job and family doing gaming? I guess it’s that I can influence the imaginary world a little better.

At any rate, the world is still going ’round. The rich are getting richer, the poor poorer, and the “nutty nuttier”:http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/africa/07/11/zimbabwe.demolition.ap/index.html (and they’ve certainly flown the coop). I’m glad the Apostropher “made it back safely”:http://www.apostropher.com/blog/archives/002567.html. Dennis’s bark was “worse than his bite”:http://www.cnn.com/2005/WEATHER/07/11/tropical.weather/index.html, but his bark was mighty fierce and his bite pretty bad.

On the foreign policy front, more and more Americans “disagree with the president”:http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/07/11/bush.terror/index.html and say that our moves in Iraq have been counterproductive. Bush keeps haw-hawing about having “no timeline for withdrawal”:http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/07/11/bush.terror/index.html, but now we’re hearing 2006.

And, our thoughts have been with those in London.

I think I’m going to escape again.
