FDA asks Pfizer to pull Bextra™ off market

The “latest”:http://us.rd.yahoo.com/finance/industry/news/latestnews/*http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/050407/fda_painkillers.html?.v=2 in COX-2 inhibitor news has two parts:

* The FDA(Food and Drug Administration) and the EMEA(European Medicines Evaluation Agency) want Bextra™ off the market. It and Vioxx™ (made by Merck) were found earlier this year to carry the greatest risk of heart attack and stroke. Celebrex, also made by Pfizer, was found to be the least bad among the three.
* Also, the FDA(Food and Drug Administration) is asking makers of OTC(Over the Counter) NSAID(Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs) to put cardiovascular and gastrointestinal bleeding warnings on the bottles. This includes aspirin, acetaminophen (I think), ibuprofen, and naproxen.
