More thrills and agony

Two games. Two overtimes. Two big leads blown in the last few minutes of the game. Nine points total margin. “Two”:http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaab/recap;_ylc=X3oDMTBpNWZic251BF9TAzI1NjY0ODI1BHNlYwN0aA–?gid=200503260267&prov=ap “teams”:http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaab/recap;_ylc=X3oDMTBpbmdmam0wBF9TAzI1NjY0ODI1BHNlYwN0bQ–?gid=200503260267 are now definitely in the Final Four.

Of course, the team that took out Wake in 2 OT is now in the Final Four. Those guys are crazy. Someone must have forgotten to tell them that they weren’t supposed to make it that far. Of course, Louisville wasn’t supposed to go this far, either, but wasn’t as long of a shot.

I’m nervous about the Wisconsin vs. UNC game. If Roy sends his second string team out against the Cheeseheads we’ll have a very long night. Part of me is hoping it is UNC vs. Kentucky with UNC up 100-60 or something in the Final Four, but I really don’t want the the boys from the Land of Jim Beam making it that far. Nothing personal, but their number of trips to the Final Four is infringing on the Tar Heel’s fine tradition.

The thing I like about sports: I can get swept away in completely artificial competition and forget the real issues for a while.
