How corruption damages the environment

Liberals say we need to send money to save the rainforests. (Many) conservatives say that that money is squandered in corruption. “They’re both right.”: I’m glad a Nobel Peace Prize recipient, who has been chosen to advocate rainforest conservation in Africa, acknowledges the problem and isn’t afraid to talk in plain language about it. Problem is, African rainforests are in some of the world’s poorest and also most corrupt countries.

We’ll ignore the conservatives who say there is no problem with the rainforests, and the extreme nutcases who say that rainforest destruction is a good thing.
